Hints:
- If a search phrase or topic is popular / trending / breakout, blog about that topic.
- When you want to write about a certain topic, do a couple searches to see if there are some unanswered questions floating around in cyberspace that you didn’t think to include.
- If you want to write about “Topic A,” you might find out it is related to “Topic B” and be able to incorporate that into your blog post.
- Use of these tools should help you realize #1 and #6 of Mashable’s “6 Tips for Creating Valuable Branded Content”.
Notes:
- Trends research is reserved for very popular topics–with search volume in the millions.
- Accuracy is not 100% on any of these tools, but they’re still beneficial in my opinion. Then data is normalized, which means the search quantity amounts aren’t necessarily able to be taken at face value, but, because of normalized data, comparisons between items are appropriate.
